The main goal of occupational therapy is to reach the independence in occupational performance (performance areas, performance components, performance contexts) among the following cases:
 
-         Physical dysfunctions: such as CVA (cerebral vascular accident), SCI (spinal cord injury), arthritis (RA: rheumatoid arthritis, OA: osteoarthritis), nerve injuries (radial, ulnar, median nerve injuries), TBI (traumatic brain injury), and burns.
-         Developmental dysfunctions: such as CP( cerebral palsy), MD( muscular dystrophy), OI( osteogenesis imperfecta), MR(mental retardation), autism, ADHD( attention deficit hyperactivity disorder),  spina bifida, limb deficiencies, dyslexia, alexia, dyspraxia, apraxia and learning disabilities
-         Psychological disorders: mood disorders (bipolar disorders, manic disorders, depressive disorders), thought disorders such as schizophrenia and anxiety disorders.
