  Jordan University School of Medicine, Amman, Jordan.

The premier medical school in Jordan and the Middle East, admission is only granted to the top ranking students nation wide.  Attended from 09/1990 to 06/1997 at which time I was granted the M.B.; B.S. degree.

 

  •     Post Graduate medical education

 

    • Rotatory internship from 06/1997 through 06/1998,

 served at Al Basheer Hospital, Amman, Jordan, the largest referral hospital for the Jordanian Ministry of Health. This internship is mandated by the Jordanian Ministry of Health as a requirement of medical licensure in Jordan, and is composed of rotatory service through the departments of; Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatric and Emergency.

 

    • A resident of ophthalmology at King Hussein Medical Center (KHMC), Amman, Jordan.

KHMC is the primary teaching site within the Royal Medical Services and is regarded as the most prestigious teaching institute in the country. The Royal Medical Services provide health care to military personnel and their families, thus attending to almost 20% of the Jordanian population, in addition to a constant flux of patients from neighboring countries who seek more advanced medical care. My residency started in 1998 and I anticipate concluding my training in February of 2005.

 

    • Serving as the chief resident of ophthalmology at KHMC from the year 2000 until the year 2005.

The duties of my position include the supervision and training of junior ophthalmology residents, in addition to several administrative tasks.

o   2013 –present ophthalmology consultant and glaucoma specialist in private sector.

 

o   2011 -2012 medical officer for the UN in Haiti (MINUSTAH) controlling the medical issues for the mission.

o   Full scholarship by the Jordan University School of Medicine for academic Excellence.

 

o   United Nations medal for participating in the Medical Mission in Liberia and in Haiti .

o   Jordan Blood Bank Society Award of Appreciation for humanitarian efforts.

·         A paper on (selective laser trabeculoplasty in open angle glaucoma), presented in the second Arab regional ophthalmology meeting in 2003.

 

·         A paper on (Intravitreal Injection of Triamcinolone Acetonide for the Treatment of Diffuse Chronic Macular Oedema).

 

·         An article: The Incidence of Exposure Keratopathy in Intensive Care Unit Patients. which published in the Pan Arab Medical Journal.

 

·         A study in Steroids Induced Glaucoma In Myopia.

  

·         Also a study on The Effect of Hypertension on progression of Diabetic retinopathy.

 

·         Paper on dissecting bleb at the American glaucoma society meeting 2010.
