EXPERIENCE IN OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY: |
|
|
I finished
my training in reproductive medicine and surgery
according to the RCOG curriculum in Oxford University :
This includes modules of IVF and infertility, menopause
and premature ovarian failure, family planning and
contraception, paediatric adolescent gynaecology,
Laparoscopic surgeries including assisting in complex
laser laparoscopies for stage 3 or 4 endometriosis, PGD
,PGS and CGH, Chronic pelvic pain, urology and andrology.
I am capable
of doing almost all gynaecologic surgeries
laparoscopically including cystectomies, oopherectomies,
salpingoopherectomies, tubal surgeries , dye testing ,
myomectomies, hysterectomies , adhesolysis and treatment
of endometriosis. Also I assisted in lots of complex
urogynecologic surgeries like laparoscopic
sacrocoplplexies and hysteropexies.
-
I am
confident reading CTGs, managing normal vaginal
deliveries, performing and repairing episiotomies ,
repairing 1st , 2nd 3rd
and
4th
degree perineal tears with no supervision.I was
also dealing with labour suite emergencies as a
second on call as well as performing instrumental
deliveries ( low or outlet forceps or vacuum
deliveries ) and complicated caesarean sections.
-
I am
well trained in performing almost all gynecological
procedures including: Hysteroscopy and endometrial
biopsy, diagnostic and operative laparoscopy,
dilatation and curettage, evacuation and curettage,
cervical cautery, cryotherapy, total abdominal
hysterectomies , Myomectomies, ovarian cystectomies
,anterior and posterior colporraphies ,
perineorraphies , tubal ligation procedures and
total laparoscopic hysterectomies. Furthermore I
assisted in lots of oncology staging procedures for
ovarian , endometrial , cervical and vulval
maligancies.

I also
did 6 months of urogynaecology in my training. This
added to my skills and gave me the chance to assist
in some TVTs and TVTO . Also I had the chance to
perform some urodynamic studies. I did attend pelvic
floor exercise clinics and I am capable of
fitting ring pessaries and assessing the degree of
genital organ prolapse according to the POPQ system.

Through
my experience in managing the labour ward , I
experienced that working together and communicating
effectively with midwifery, paediatric and
anaesthetic colleagues, as well as liaising with
senior colleagues is the key for provision of high
quality service to the patients.

I did
join the oxford fertility unit in January 2011. I am
capable of doing some procedures independently
like egg collections, embryo transfers and surgical
sperm retrievals. I am capable of doing laser
laparoscopies for mild to moderate endometriosis .I
also assisted in laser laparoscopies for cases with
severe endometriosis and rectovaginal disease done
by the reproductive team in Oxford University too.

I love
charity work and enjoy helping others. I did
participate in several medical free days at villages
in Jordan.

I did a
course in Operative Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy
under the supervision of Mr.Adam Magos at the Royal
Free Hospital in London from 24th -26th
September 2008 and was awarded a certificate.

RESEARCH AND AUDITS: |

|
-
I was part
of a team that carried a research study in villages
in the north of Jordan in the summer of 2003. We
wrote questionnaires, visited people at their homes,
emptied the collected data on computers and analyzed
it. We calculated the infant mortality rate from the
collected data and it was around 30/1000.
-
I took a
course of biostatistics in my undergraduate training
for one semester.
-
To add to my
research skills, I attended some lectures in ethics,
biostatistics and research methodology. I worked on
audits with my consultants about the following
topics: shoulder dystocia, umbilical cord prolapsed
.
-
We published
a paper in the European Journal of Cancer Care
about : Awareness, practice and attitude to cervical
Papanicolaou smear among female health care workers
in Jordan.
-
I took a
postgraduate course in statistics last year and I
will be working on some research projects under the
supervision of Dr. Yousef Al Ga'oud. And Mr. Tim
Child.

Working on 3
research projects with my consultants at Oxford
Fertility Unit. : Retrograde ejaculation , AMH level
and outcome of IVF cycles … etc

ACTIVITIES, INTERESTS AND HOBBIES: |
|
|
-
I like
swimming and was a member of the swimming team at my
school and we had won several tournaments in the
past.
-
Basketball
is my other favourite sport. In school and college I
had joined different basketball teams and we won a
good number of games.
-
I played
volleyball, Netball, Badminton, Table tennis, Hockey
and threw Shot put and Discuss for around 3 years in
high school.
-
I enjoy
watching movies and I have a collection of more than
200 DVDS & video CDs.
-
I wrote mini
sagas and diaries in the past but unfortunately I do
not have enough time these days to enjoy my hobbies.

I love
travelling and had the chance to visit several
countries including: The United Kingdom (England and
Scotland), Germany, The Sultanate of Oman, Lebanon,
Turkey and The United Arab Emirates.
