                         To become a better doctor by having powerful

This included 3 months of General Internal Medicine, 2 months  of Pediatrics, 2 months of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 3 months of Surgery, 1 month in Emergency Department and 1 month in Histology/Pathology Department.

    20/8/2005 – 24/5/2010: Specialist (Assistant consultant) OB/GYN, King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC), King Khalid National Guard Hospital (KKNGH), Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

     11 consultants (one is Gyne-oncologist, three Perinatologists, tree  endocrinologists, one laparoscopist and two uro-gynecologists), 9 assistant and associate consultants, 10-14 residents and 3-7 interns were running the OB/GYN department during that period.

 

 

My job included running the outpatient clinic, taking care of in-patients and doing night-duties. I was the 2nd on-call for emergency room and labour and delivery room, but the 1st on-call for operating room and the clinic. Adding to that, I participated in the teaching activities at all levels.

I held a leading role in the educational activities regarding Intra-partum fetal monitoring and Operative vaginal deliveries. In that context, I participated to a large extent in the preparation for and the presentation of the (CTG-Made Easy Course and Workshop: a Full Day course and workshop, which is totally recognized by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties (SCHS) with 6 Continuous Medical Education (CME) hours. It is the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ).

I was a member in the committees of: Quality Management, Library and Obstetrical Clinical Practice and Guidelines. Later I became the Head of the Quality Management Committee.

KKNGH at KAMC is a recognized tertiary and referral hospital for teaching and training purposes for the Saudi Board and the Arab Board of OB/GYN.

KAMC is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) (2006-2009).

In December 2009 I lead a team composed of the Head of Department, Head Nurse for the Maternal-Fetal-Medicine-Unit, Pharmacists to produce an Internal Policy and Procedure to administer Ferrous Intra Venously as an out patient for those how needed to improve patient care. This IPP was approved by the CEO (Medical + Nursing).

 

     2/10/2004 – 10/7/2005: Specialist (Assistant consultant) OB/GYN, Security Forces Hospital Program (SFHP), Riyadh , KSA.

5-6 consultants (one is sub-specialist: urogynaecologist), 5 assistant consultants, 13 residents and 5-7 interns were running the OB/GYN department during that period.

I was the coordinator for the medical students sent to train in our department from King Saud University ( College of Medicine ) and King Khalid University Hospital (Dept. of OB/GYN) from 23rd April 2005 till I left the hospital.

Also, I was the coordinator for the medical Interns sent to train in our department from King Saud University ( College of Medicine ) and King Khalid University Hospital (Dept. of Ob & Gyn) from 18th June 2005 till I left the hospital.

SFHP is accredited by the Canadian Council for Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA) (2003-2006).

 

                         23/10/2003 – 10/10/2004: Specialist (Assistant consultant) OB/GYN, King Fahd Medical City (KFMC), Maternity Hospital (236 beds), Riyadh , KSA.

This is a totally new tertiary centre, fully equipped with the latest available technology in the world, and runs the whole set of OB/GYN sub-specialties and general OB/GYN practice.

9 consultants (some are sub-specialists), 9 assistant consultants and 23 residents were running the hospital during that period.

2/11/2002 - 23/10/2003: Specialist, practicing both supervised and unsupervised general OB/GYN, Arab Medical Center (AMC) (Private Hospital, 170 beds), Amman, Jordan.

I had to cover OB/GYN wards, emergency room, operating room and the outpatient clinic with its ultrasound facilities and procedures.

Also included, assisting and doing advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic operations.

15/7/2002 - 15/9/2002: Specialist and IVF training, Jordan Hospital (Private, recognized as a teaching and training hospital by the Jordanian Medical Council (JMC) for the Jordanian Board in OB/GYN), Amman , Jordan .

This included primary assessment of patients including ultrasound scan, ovulation induction protocols, egg retrieval, embryo transfer, antenatal follow-up, assisting and doing laparoscopic operations and assisting in all types of OB/GYN operations.

 

1/7/1998 – 30/6/2002 (4 years): Academic residency training programme in general OB/GYN, Jordan University Hospital (JUH) (Recognized by the Jordanian Medical Council, Arab Board and the RCOG for training purposes).

During that period all necessary skills for running a clinic with ultrasound scans and doing labour ward management and Caesarean Sections of all types, and vulval, vaginal, cervical, uterine, adnexal and intra-abdominal operations. Adding to that, basic operations in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy (both diagnostic and operative).

My responsibilities included teaching and supervising

residents and medical students and research (MAGPIE Trial).

8 consultants (some are sub-specialists: gyne-oncologists and endocinologists) and 21 residents were running the hospital during that period.

 

1997-1998 (3 months): IVF and general OB/GYN          training, Farah Hospital (Private), Amman , Jordan .

This included primary assessment of patients including ultrasound scan, ovulation induction protocols with antenatal follow-up and assisting in all types of OB/GYN operations.

 

1996-1997 (12 months): Internship, Jordan

University Hospital . Outstanding evaluation in OB/GYN

Department.

It included working in the departments of Internal Medicine, General, Vascular and Paediatric Surgeries, Paediatrics, Emergency & Pathology Departments.

 

Experiences:    I can do all of the following with confidence:

     Out-patient clinic with ultrasound scan and related

                             procedures

All types of vaginal deliveries, including forceps,   

     Ventouse, breeches and twins

                        All types of Caesarean sections, including repeated C.

                             sections, placenta previa, oblique fetal lies, higher

                             order pregnancies and others.

     All of the minor, and most of the major gynaecological  

operations, including adnexal operations, hysterectomies, myomectomies, vaginal repairs and levels 1 and 2 laparoscopic procedures, with various types of hysteroscopic procedures, including endometrial ablations and dissection of synechia.

                        I have assisted in almost every other OB/GYN operation,

                             including those of oncology and urogynaecology.

I have a very good experience in the treatment of sub-      

     fertility for all causes. I practiced this interest in Farah

Hospital (Amman- Jordan- 3 months), in Jordan

Hospital (Amman- Jordan- 2 months), in KAMC-J

(KSA- Jeddah-under the infertility team for a long

time), in Ahlees Clinic (Benghazi- Libya- 2

months) and finally in my own Private Clinic.

                        I do Ovum Pick Up / Embryo Transfer / IUI / Ovarian

                             cyst aspiration / I can manage OHSS / and other

                             related procedures.
